Neider Criollo Betancourt is a young, quality focused coffee farmer in Colombia. He's been refining his processing over the past few years to develop some incredible coffees. His farm sits on a steep slope where he created an innovative transfer tube running to the top of the farm. When he collects ripe cherries, he drops them into a concrete hopper and sends them over a half mile down the hillside in the buried tube. He created his own wet mill carved into a hillside where it dumps the peeled cherries below to be transported onto drying patios.
The geographical complexity of Colombia makes it one of the most unique coffee producing countries in the world. Colombia was the first coffee origin that we visited. Now we travel around the world establishing relationships with coffee farmers.
