This is our second year with Natalia's coffee. She primarily grows Gesha in her small farm and treats the small harvest like experimental lots. We are proud to have this Natural process, as well as a Washed Processed Gesha coffee from her. The Natural Process was hand picked, fermented and dried with the cherry intact on the seeds. This creates brighter, more tart flavors. The influence of the Natural Process fermentation profile accompanied by the florals from the Gesha variety creates a well balanced, juicy cup profile.
Natalia is married to Lisandro Cardenas, another coffee producer we purchase from. Their farms are deep in the hills of Acevedo, Colombia. Both the Lezamas and Cardenas families have been purveyors of specialty coffee in Colombia for many years.
All of our Colombian coffee comes from Huila. The department of Huila, Colombia is home to some of the best coffee in the world. We purchase from many areas within Huila.
