Known for rich top soil and a rugged landscape, the Waghi Valley is responsible for a sweetly spiced and balanced coffee. Small landholders sell their coffee to collectors, drive, or walk their coffee to a nearby mill to be dried and wash processed.
Papua New Guinea is an equatorial Pacific island nation of complex history and culture. Much of the coffee is forest grown in the highlands scattered through varied and rugged terrain. Unpaved or damaged roadways create transportation difficulties for producers and exporters alike.
