Kebede Genale is one of the most iconic coffee producers we've met. He's in his seventies and has been growing coffee in the hills of Guji, Ethiopia for over thirty years. The high elevation of his farm creates small, dense coffee cherries. After harvesting, the cherries are spread out onto raised beds to be naturally processed in direct sunlight. With relatively low humidity, the drying conditions are perfect for Natural processed coffees. Humid conditions generally extend the fermentation of coffee on drying beds, creating intense fruit flavors; whereas Natural processed coffees from Guji are known for sweet, floral flavors. This particular lot from Mr. Kebede is sweet & juicy, with notes of peach and raspberry.
